SBS Computer Services are in the process of finishing construction of our new website. The tweaks employed should make it easier to navigate, especially on mobile devices. AUTUMN UPDATE

Whilst we love our tablets, the traditional computer desktop or laptop is far from dead. Indeed, industry numbers suggest that shipments are steadily increasing. If you still love your existing PC, we can upgrade hardware and tune the software to optimise it as much as possible (dependent on whether economically viable). Of course, SBS Computer Services have been providing this service for over 10 years (along with many others). Home User or Business User, don't hestitate to contact to discuss your requirements. We can even help with integrating your desktop/laptop environment with tablet/phone!

IMPORTANT: END OF WINDOWS XP / OFFICE 2003 SUPPORT

Microsoft have officially discontinued support for all versions of Windows XP and Office 2003. This means that there will no longer be updates for the these programs. Although they will still function, this means that no further security issues will be resolved, putting any internet connected machine and network at potential risk from malware/viruses/trojans etc. Whilst SBS Computer Services will still provide support for Windows XP and Office 2003, for example, cleaning up after infections, we won't be able to prevent further infection due to the reasons stated above.

There are several different options available if you are still running Windows XP and/or Office 2003. Depending on you current system specification, you may be able to run later versions of Windows and/or Office, you may need to upgrade memory or other components, or you may need a new machine.

NEW APPLE HARDWARE & SOFTWARE

Apple have announced the launch of updated IPads, Macbooks & Mac Pro. We can provide full support on these products and continue to support any older devices you may have. They have also launched their new operating system, Mavericks. This is the 10th release of OS X and offers a large number of improvements and new features. The good news is, the update is free for supported systems. However, the upgrade is a 5.29Gb download. SBS Computer Services appreciate that this is a time-consuming download for many and as a special offer, are happy to supply and install the operating system for a flat fee of £25 (some terms and conditions apply, call for details).

BLACKBERRY MESSENGER AVAILABILITY

Blackberry Messenger (BBM) is now available on IOS & Android, and can be downloaded from the Apple App Store and Google Play as appropriate. You can contact SBS Computer Services by adding the PIN 24BFA134.

LOCAL PHONE NUMBERS

SBS Computer Services have introduced a number of local phone numbers that can be used as alternatives to the main number or freephone number. These "01" numbers are usually covered in mobile/landline inclusive minutes packages. Of course, you don't have to live in these areas to call them, and we would be delighted to speak to you wherever you live in our service area (Nottinghamshire, North Derbyshire, South Yorkshire).
