HARDWARE DIAGNOSTICS

Whilst most computer problems are software related, occasionally hardware does fail. If your computer is outside of a warranty period or is a second user or self-built machine with no warranty, then we can identify the faulty component and advise on the best course of action.

Most computer problems are related to software. By using personal knowledge and software tools, many Windows related problems can be identified and corrected without need to re-install the operating system.

HARDWARE INSTALLATION

Many wireless (WiFi) networks throughout the local area (and nationally) are considered to be "insecure". The implications from this, is that it is possible that your wireless network could be used by a third-party without your knowledge or consent. Depending on how you have your PC configured, it may be possible to view your personal files and data, or use your internet connection. Microsoft are continually updating it's operating systems. However, many people do not have broadband connections and these updates can be quite large in size. We have the major "service packs" on disk and can install them for you, quickly and efficiently.

The increasing menace of viruses means that even the most careful computer user can become affected. On many occasions it is not necessary to reinstall Windows. However, if you cannot start your computer, what do you do? We have specialised tools for dealing with just this sort of problem.

"SPYWARE" DETECTION & REMOVAL

Along with viruses, "spyware" is a major problem. There are many definitions and explanations of this on the internet but this is the phrase we use for software that is installed (sometimes without your knowledge) which generally can clog up your system, reducing performance and occasionally transmitting personal data to a third-party. DATA RECOVERY

Despite the presence of the "Recycle Bin", occasionally you may empty it unintentionally and lose an important document or file. Even if you format a drive, you haven't necessarily lost that file.
